Am I the only one that thinks this is a bad idea?

Blind, deaf man to lead expedition

Trip will take 20 children through Amazon

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Bill Barkeley spoke Monday downtown Grand Rapids in honor of the fifth anniversary of the Hearing Loss Association of America.

Barkeley has Usher's syndrome, which has caused him to progressively go blind and deaf starting at age 28.

But he doesn't let anything slow him down. In 2007, Barkeley conquered Mount Kilimanjaro, documenting his entire journey. Now, he is spreading his motivational message.

Barkeley will lead an expedition called Hear the World next year, taking 20 hearing-impaired children to the Amazon.

Hey I am all for people with disabilities accomplishing great feats in life. I think it puts an explanation point on how bad my life sucks. But the blind leading the blind in the Amazon Jungle is not something that I would want to be a part of.

What are the parents of these children thinking? Why would they ever let their blind kids go on a jungle safari with a blind and deaf person leading them. This has the recipe for a epic fail.

Here are my odds on what I think will happen.

  • 2/5 someone catches a disease (malaria/yellow fever)
  • 2/1 someone gets bite by a snake
  • 100000/1 someone gets whacked in the face with a branch that someone thinks that they are holding for them
  • 10/1 someone falls off or down a cliff
  • 13/1 group gets attacked by indigenous people
  • 4/1 group gets attacked by monkeys
  • 2/1 someone gets lost
All the best to them, I hope they all come back.

China discoveries another 1000 miles of The Great Wall

China finds another 1,000 miles of the Great Wall

Times Online---It is still not visible from space, but scientists have discovered that the Great Wall of China is about 1,000 miles longer than previously thought.

Most estimates have calculated that the barrier stretches for around 4,500 miles (7,300km) through the Chinese countryside, but modern mapping techniques have discovered that it is even greater.

Well congratulations China you stumped to the level of the Russians for losing a church, and local historians for losing a lighthouse. How do you miss calculate 1000 miles? Fuck I have GPS on my phone and that gets me places with in a few feet. And they can't even calculate a wall that has been there for thousands of years. Aren't the Chinese suppose to be good in math? Maybe there abacuses don't go up that high? Epic bad math.

Failure and a dumbass

ARREST ME, YOU IDIOTS!

NY Post---A dimwitted thief shouted from his apartment window that he knocked off a Bushwick bodega while calling cops "idiots" for grabbing the wrong guy, authorities said yesterday.

Raymond Gramby, 37, allegedly yelled, "It was me you idiots, you have the wrong guy!" as police led an innocent man to the deli on Bushwick Avenue where the theft occurred at 1:45 a.m. Monday.

Gramby had earlier swiped two bottles of Olde English malt liquor and tried to walk out of the store, but was stopped by the owner, sources said.

He pulled a knife and fled. Gramby was followed by cops all the way to his nearby seventh-floor apartment, but when a different man answered the door, officers accidentally grabbed him instead.

As he was led him down the street, Gramby opened his window and began his rant. He was arrested and charged with robbery, weapon possession and menacing.

I was debating if I can call this guy a dumbass. Maybe he just felt guilty that the wrong man was being arrested. But I will still stand by his dumbassness, because he could have handled the matter a little bit more professionally. Professionally I mean not calling police idiots.

I am actually more curious about the guy the police grab and were about to arrest. Did the police just grab a random black dude and tried to arrest him? The guy that did must live across the street, probably went in there all the time. How can they screw that up? Racial profiling anyone?

Classic Fail

An anti-theft program captured the image of a man who may have stolen a laptop computer from Hiram Johnson High School, the Sacramento Police Department said.Sgt. Norm Leong said the theft took place on Oct. 14 sometime between 4 p.m. and the next morning after someone got into a school office. The school's anti-theft program allows computers to be tracked and photos to be taken of people who may be using them, Leong said.

There so many things I love about this story. The most important thing is that you shouldn't steal, specially computers with web cams. I had no idea that computers had such cool anti-theft devices.

Its a fabulous picture of the guy, looks like he was completely ready for his picture to be taking. Little bit of "OOO" face going on. Can't wait to see what his mug shot will look like.

Looks like the guy is in Grounds Keeper Willy's shed.

The guy totally has a tissue in his hand, I can only imagine that the dude's pants are either around the ankles or about to be.

After knowing that, does the school really want its lab top back? Definitely needs to be sanitized afterwards.

Friday's Failure of the day

This happened last week in the Marshall vs Houston football game. When the QB over throws the endzone, don't run and catch it. Ouch!
