There done. Even though they came back down 3-1 last year and down 3-0 games back in 2004, they are done. Stick a fork in them. They just have too many holes to fill. Props to Tampa, because they will probably win the World Series.
This is what it felt like watching the first inning.
But on the bright side at least the Yankees keep losing. Tampa's oldest pitcher is 26 years old, they have a solid core of young players that will be competitive for many years to come. As long as they keep some of them.
The Red Sox have plenty of young pitching as well, and they are turning out one home grown positional player each year. They will be around the top of baseball for the next couple years.
While the Yankees have one young good player, and that is Joba Chamberlain. And its appears he will break down as a starter. They really don't have too much on the farm, and they will have to try and buy another championship. Once again filling their roster with old aging players that will become overpriced in two years.
I'm tried of the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry. Lets bring on the Tampa/Sox rivalry for the next 10 years.

Who is the most prestigious franchise in all of sports? We all know that, so I won't write it. Even if the next ten years go great for Bosotn and Tampa they'll NEVER rival the Bombers. It would take more like 100 years to even come close.
